What's the Low-Cost High-Impact Accountability Upgrade that Any Leader Can Implement at Any Level of an Organisation?
Learn how you can transform your team or organisation to thinking and behaving "above-the-line" using our simple yet powerful system.
OR
Put an end to blame, excuses and denial in your team and create an atmosphere of ownership, accountability and responsibility
Leading people is hard work because, let's face it, we're all human and we all have our imperfections. Put any group of people together, and those imperfections tend to get magnified, no matter how highly evolved or emotionally intelligent individual members of the group may be.
THE PROBLEMS
Even the most tight-knit workplaces have people problems from time to time. You know the drill...
MISUNDERSTANDINGS
Simple off-the-cuff comments become misunderstandings. Misunderstandings fester and get blown out of proportion.
Gossip starts, rumours begin, cliques form, and the team that used to run like a well-oiled machine, soon needs a tune-up to bring it back on track.
And if you don't catch it in time, full-blown conflict arises, allegations are made and formal complaints are laid.
Before you know it, your role as a leader becomes one of a peacemaker, a diplomat, an advocate and a mediator. Not exactly what you signed up for!
UNDERPERFORMERS
Or maybe there's no misunderstandings involved, but you've got one or two underperformers that are holding the team back.
They aren't as reliable as you need them to be, their work isn't up to the standard of the rest of the team, and the rest of the team knows this.
Gossip starts, rumours begin, cliques form, and the team the used to run like a...
THE SOLUTION
The good new is, these problems can be avoided by adopting a simple "above-the-line" model that be applied to any team, in any situation, no matter where they are on the 'functional/dysfunctional spectrum.'
And the great news is, it's a solution that the team plays an active role in implementing.
Introducing the People Leaders
Above-the-Line Leaders' Toolkit
A simple yet powerful tool to help establish an 'above-the-line' approach, throughout your team or organisation, covering all the bases of team dynamics, by tying it in to the 9 dimensions of our popular High-Performing Team Indicator.
We've taken the well-known "above-the-line" thinking model apart and rebuilt it from the ground up, creating a set of resources you can use to elevate your team to become the self-correcting, self-led team every leader dreams of having. By relating it back to the 9 dimensions of our proprietary High-Performing Team Indicator you and your team can apply above-the-line thinking holistically, ensuring that you get maximum leverage throughout your team or organisation.
Using our pre-recorded video modules, templates and simple assessments, we'll show you how to walk your team through an engaging team-building session where they'll not only learn the fundamentals of above-the-line thinking, but also how they can support each other in a non-judgmental way to give your entire team an accountability upgrade.
What better way could there be to help you move from 'managing' your team to truly leading them.

So What Exactly Is Above-the-Line Thinking?
In it's simplest form, above-the-line thinking is where we let go of 'below-the-line thinking,' blame, excuse and denial, and replace it with ownership, accountability and responsibility.
Above-the-line thinking is the universal culture fit that belongs in any and every organisation or team, no matter how large or small, and no matter what stage of evolution it is at.
An Above-the-Line Thinking Approach In Your Workplace Will...

- 1Log in and spend an hour or so familiarising yourself with the Implementation Guide and the process.
- 2Schedule a half-day "Above-the-Line" session (or 2-3 one-hour sessions) with your team, which you can facilitate either online or face to face.
- 3Invite your team to the session. We'll give you an invitation template that you can customise to prime your team in advance.

We'll supply an agenda that includes optional assessment and engagement exercises to cement the learnings. We'll also include a 'team agreement' so everyone is literally on the same page and can commit to an Above-the-Line approach moving forward.
- 5Implement! The beauty of an above-the-line culture is that it's self perpetuating. Team members keep each other accountable in a non-judgmental fashion, and support each other to bring out the best in themselves and each other.
- 6Review and reassess. After a month or two, we recommend getting the team together again for a short review session to assess progress, to celebrate and to make any adjustments necessary moving forward.
PLUS, we've even got you covered for onboarding new members to the team. Show them the video tutorials and your team agreement during their onboarding process and you can be sure they'll fit right in.

We've Turbocharged the Above-the-Line Approach
We've put more than 50 years' combined experience in leadership and working with teams to integrate an above-the-line approach to every aspect of team dynamics, utilising the 9 dimensions of our proven High-Performing Team Indicator. Getting your entire team on board with an above-the-line approach will elevate team performance across the board.
1
Tutorial 1: Above-the-Line Mindset
Attitude is everything, yet fostering a consistent attitude throughout your team is easier said that done. This tutorial gives you and your team a reference point to recognise when you your attitude might be below-the-line, and what you can do to elevate it.
2
Tutorial 2: Above-the-Line Direction
Learn the signs and symptoms of team with a below-the-line direction and how to correct it, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clear, and everyone is focused on the same goals.
3
Tutorial 3: Above-the-Line Ownership
Ownership, accountability and responsibility are the cornerstones of above-the-line thinking. Without these it's impossible for any team to thrive. In this tutorial we outline the personal and professional benefits of an above-the-line approach and the fundamental thinking and feeling shifts anyone can make to make their work more meaningful and fulfilling, and to take pride in their ability to deliver quality outcomes.
4
Tutorial 4: Above-the-Line Performance Rhythm
Rhythms, systems and processes give teams the structure they need to truly excel. This tutorial runs through the most critical processes you need to have in place to give your team an above-the-line rhythm, making sure that routine processes are completed effectively, and short- or long-term projects hit their milestones on time.
5
Tutorial 5: Above-the-Line Communication
This entire program will be worth the price just for this module alone. Communication is usually the weakest link in any team, almost always because of below-the-line communication tactics, that mostly happen unconsciously. We'll bring them to light so the team can put an end to them together.
6
Tutorial 6: Above-the-Line Service
Committed service is what sets high-performing teams apart from the rest, and can easily be established by taking an above-the-line approach. In this tutorial we'll show you and your team exactly how that's done.
7
Tutorial 7: Above-the-Line Growth Environment
A work environment that doesn't support growth stagnates, allowing performance to fall short across the board. We'll show you and your team how to foster an environment that's supportive and progressive, creating a 'rising tide that lifts all ships.'
8
Tutorial 8: Above-the-Line Wellbeing
Emotional, mental and physical wellbeing are critical to individual and collective performance and state of mind. This tutorial will foster an above-the-line approach so that team members can reduce stress and optimise health through making above-the-line choices.
9
Tutorial 9: Above-the-Line Relationships
Trusted relationships are fundamental, both within the team and with key external stakeholders. We'll run through the behaviours that naturally foster and support trusted relationships within, and outside of, the workplace.
10
Tutorial 10: Above-the-Line In Action
Now that everyone has an understanding of what an above-the-line culture looks like, it's time to put it into action. We'll show you and your team how to set an agreement, and how to maintain an awareness of below-the-line behaviours, and how to correct them, without judgement or coercion. Your team will create its own 'self-correcting loop' to keep everyone above the line.

These Leading Organisations Trust Us With Their Leaders And Their Teams
Co-Create A Positive Culture With Your Team
Of all the models and frameworks we've worked with, Above-the-Line is the simplest, most elegant, and universally applicable tool we've come across. But most leaders tell us they struggle to get their team aligned with this way of thinking and being, even when they have a team that already performs well.
The reasons for this are simple: 1) It takes a sustained effort to embed an Above-the-Line culture, and 2) you need to have the structure and processes in place to sustain the practice.
That's why we created Above-the-Line Leaders' Toolkit. It's a complete system to help you communicate the value and the universal appeal of an above-the-line culture to your team and enlist them as co-creators of the culture in your workplace.
We've workshopped above-the-line cultures in plenty of workplaces before, with a starting price to work with us in person of $3,500 per workshop. But with our Above-the-Line Leaders' Toolkit you'll only pay a fraction of that price.
Follow the steps in our simple system and you could have your team working above the line within a matter of days. Plus, with our 14-Day 100% Satisfaction Guarantee (which commences when you have access to the content), you'll have plenty of time to evaluate the toolkit to see if it's right for you.

We had a “jam packed” agenda
I just wanted to extend my sincere thanks for your assistance at our recent strategy workshop. Your facilitation skills were excellent and ensured we got the most out of our session and that we met our objectives. We had a “jam packed” agenda and somehow you managed to ensure we covered it all! I think your engaging and non confrontational personal style assisted greatly in allowing the team to work well together and get the best outcome. The tools and learnings they gave are brilliantly simple
I had never experienced something aimed completely at me that was so focussed, honest and fair, that got to the essence of what I was, in terms of both skills and behaviour, and where I was at. The tools and learnings they gave me are brilliantly simple and cunningly clever and have equipped me to develop and grow in a far more complete, satisfying and professionally successful way.

Frequently Asked Questions
You’ll receive a login from us which will give you access to our online Teamwork Essentials portal. From there you’ll be able to access the video tutorials.
In the Professional or Premium versions, some of the videos are for the leader only, and others are for you to screen to your team. You’ll also get a facilitation guide, some templates and other resources that will help you and your team implement the recommendations.
Even if your team or organisation has a set of agreed values and/or mission, this won’t be effective unless they are underwritten by an agreed set of standards based on agreed sets of principles. Most people in an organisation will have trouble recalling the mission or set of values, let alone live them, but once understood and integrated, above-the-line behaviours become second nature.
Often teams can perform well, even if they have some below-the-line thinking and behaviours amongst team members. Teams are made up of people after all!
While a high-performing team might not experience as dramatic a change as a lower performing team, we’ve yet to come across a group that didn’t benefit from formalising an above-the-line approach across the whole team. Think of it as a turbo-charger for your team.

One last thing...
In all our years of working with leaders and their teams, probably the single biggest 'mistake' we see leaders and organisations make, is that they make things more complicated than they need to be, especially when it comes to culture.
If everyone just adopted an above-the-line culture, 90% of people problems would go away! Our Above-the-Line Leaders' Toolkit is our contribution to 'the solution' and we're excited to hear about the results you and your team get from putting this simple yet powerful culture in place.
